Задание 3. Make a structure of the famous USA company. Use these items:

— Human Resources

— Production

— Marketing

— Finance

Starbucks follows a matrix organizational structure with a combination of vertical and horizontal structures. It is characterized by multiple, overlapping chains of command and divisions.

The company is one of several large multi-national corporations to successfully implement a matrix structure. In general terms, a matrix structure consists of functional and product-based divisions with multiple chains of command. It is also well suited to organizations that have a diverse range of products or services.

Starbucks is controlled by a board of directors who operate in the company headquarters of Seattle, Washington. In the United States, the company is split into regional jurisdictions run by district managers who oversee a group of stores. Each store is run by a store manager and shift supervisor who oversees a group of staff.

Importantly, Starbucks promotes an inclusive culture among its staff. The company seeks to recognize exemplary employee performance and encourages them to develop hard and soft skills – regardless of title or pay bracket. With these skills, Starbucks gives employees the autonomy to serve customers in a way they deem best. Given that authority and empowerment are given to low-level employees, the company can also be said to incorporate aspects of a flat organization structure.

The President has his administration, but it’s not part of the Federal Government. The President is involved in the work of the legislative and executive branches.

The Federal Assembly represents the Legislative branch of power. It’s made up of the two houses: the Federation Counsil and the State Duma, which make laws. The Federal Assembly is also calld the Parlamrnt, but it’s not its oficial name. Both chambers are headed by chairmen sometimes called speakers. The Duma consists of 450 deputies (one half is elected personally py the population, and the other half consists of the deputies who are appointed by their parties after voting). The members of the Federation Counsil are elected on a different basis. There are two representatives of each subject of the RF (89 subjects). Every law to be adapted must be approved by the State Duma, the Counsil of Federation and signed by the President. The President can veto laws passed by the Federal Assembly, but it can pass laws over the President’s veto a two-thirds majority.

The Federal Government represents the executive branch of power. The President appoints its head, the Chainman of the Government, but the Dums must approve his appointment.

The juridical branch of power consists of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court and lower Courts. The responsibility of the Constitutional Court is to analyse the new laws to make sure they correspond to the laws of the state. The Constitutional Court has tte right to declare actions of the President, the Federal Assembly and the Federal Government unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is the higest instance for civil and criminal cases.

Задание 3. Compose an essay on the topic “Manager of the successful company”. Write about these items: — How do you understand the term “management”- Manager’s skills- Manager’s responsibilities — Why the company is successful

In modern scientific literature is given many definitions and meanings of the term «manager». In my opinion, in the narrow sense of «manager» means the office, profession. But if you look at this term, on the other hand, we can say that the manager is a manager, a person who connects the staff in the organization and defines the goals and objectives that must be implemented in the organization, it also monitors this activity, motivates employees to performance of their duties.

At the present stage of development of both society and science of «management» in general, no specific prohibition limiting the criteria that determine the manager. Manager can be both a man and a woman. The main thing is that they have such qualities as durability and adaptability, sociability and politeness, subordination and anti — conflict, accountability and fairness and so forth. It is also the manager to see me as a man dressed in a classical form, able to fall correctly, to show to establish itself as a valuable and irreplaceable employee, professional in their field, able to please the other person, bring him to her. Each manager has different approaches and management practices that will certainly and naturally depend on the experience that is accumulated over the years of practice.

That experience is the principal assistant of any manager. On the basis of a manager solves all problems facing them. Therefore, the manager is, of course, the right hand the head, which always helps him in the management of organizations and people working in it.

I think that it’s hard work not in terms of physical effort, but in terms of moral characteristics, abilities, consciousness as the highest degree of expression of the psyche of living beings, every human psyche. After all, not everyone is able to assume responsibility for the existence, the vital activity of the organization as a whole, and individual employees. Management is also a specific type of activity that requires a high level of professionalism and creativity. It is for this reason that not all people are educated manager, working directly in this area, only a few successfully implemented in this field myself.

It is a lot to say on this subject, but we have not talked, we always come to one conclusion that the manager is a person with a number of valuable essential qualities that help him in carrying out his professional duties.

Looking at the above-said it is safe to say that the manager is an indispensable cog in the mechanism of the organization for which he was a fruitful and quality operation. That’s the way I see the manager of the twenty first century.
