It is the fact that our world is governed by many rules. There are different types of laws. However, the rules which are made by the state, people call “laws”.

The aim of a law is to regulate people’s life.  Laws are necessary in a society that is structured. Our life would be chaotic, if people were allowed to choose laws.

Laws help people to safeguard their things and their lives. It is necessary that the law provides a way to resolve disputes properly.  Law helps us to build peaceful society. It should be noted that some governments have cruel laws. It is very important when the legal system respects people’s rights. Moreover, society should believe in the Rule of Law.

Also, law should recognize and protect our basic rights and freedoms. The law provides that strong groups do not use their powerful positions in society to take unfair advantage of weaker individuals. Democratic state is such a state where people have the right to speak out publicly.
