Since ancient times, clothing has not only had a formal meaning, but it has also been a symbolic element. It should be noted, that for example, once people were proud of the possession of the skins of various animals, some colors could only be worn by representatives of a certain class. However, this distinction still exists today. For example, a priest wears a cassock, a policeman wears a uniform. A similar role plays the school uniform, which defines the child as a school student.

Moreover, the use of uniform clothing by all students is designed to instill discipline and develop cohesion. After all, when schoolchildren wear uniforms, they feel that they are part of a separate community.

In addition, the main question is whether a school uniform is needed or whether children should be allowed to walk around in whatever they want. This issue is still controversial, on the one hand, the form is useful and disciplines, on the other hand, loose clothing liberates and allows children to express their individuality.

In my opinion, the school uniform is a good tradition, but it is necessary that there is an appropriate understanding among children. In elite schools, uniforms are worn with pride and understand how clothing is used in the culture.

To sum up, sometimes it’s better to just set certain limits, some general requirements that are useful for the entire community of schoolchildren. For example, for boys — wear trousers and shirts, not tracksuits. For girls — skirts of a certain length or strict pants. When the clothes set you in the right mood, that is, for study, the school uniform performs its function. Therefore, this concept seems to me more useful than vice versa.
