The standards of Russian education are approaching European ones. Despite this, there are still major differences between the two systems.

European students also enter universities based on the results of unified exams, but for foreigners the system is different. You will need not only a certificate, but also additional documents: a language certificate, a motivation letter, recommendations. Some universities conduct their own entrance tests — exams or interviews.

Moreover, in Russian universities, students study according to a predetermined program. Subjects to choose from are given very rarely and not in all specialties. European universities also have basic courses that students are required to take, but otherwise the degree of freedom is much greater.

It should be noted that a scholarship in Europe is usually a significant amount of money. If she does not cover the full cost of education, then at least she will reduce the cost of housing and food. But getting such scholarships is more difficult than in Russia: for this, it’s not enough just to study without triples. The selection is based on a competition, which takes into account all the academic success of the applicant: publications, speeches at conferences, average score.
