Ralph Lauren is an American designer, fashion designer. Ralf was born on October 14, 1939 in the New York, in a family of Belarusian Jews. His father was from Pinsk, his mother was from Grodno. The whole family was poor. Ralph was interested in sports, especially in basketball. One day Ralph decided to become successful and wealthy. To begin with, the boy saved up for his first three-piece suit, which he bought at the age of 12.

When demobilized, Ralph Lauren got a job at Brooks Brothers, and then he went to Rivetz & Co.

Then Lauren began his own production of men’s accessories. Norman Hilton invested $ 50 thousand in Loren’s Polo Fashion company. Ralph managed to expand production and open his own store.

In 1969 the first Polo Ralph Lauren men’s clothing collection was ready, with the polo player as the logo. The collection included loose-fitting trousers, shirts, polo shirts, blazers and formal jackets. Ralph Lauren became the only designer in the world who created a collection of sports shirts made in 24 colors. Lauren was also loved in Hollywood: in 1974, the designer was asked to create costume designs for the “Great Gatsby” movie. A year later, the design team was awarded the Oscar.
