Say’s Law of Markets

1) For hundreds of years, the science of astronomy was frozen by the widely believed theories of the second century Green astronomer, Ptolemy. According to Ptolemaic theory, the Earth was the center of the universe. It was not until the 16th century that Europeans, accepting to work of Galileo and Copernicus, where persuaded that the Earth, and all the other planets, rotated around the sun. In much the same way, the doctrine known as Say’s Law, stifled advances in the study of economics for well over 100 years.

2) An admirer of Adam Smith, John Baptiste Say’s Treatise on Political Economy (1803) helped to introduce The Wealth of Nations to the native in France. In the course of explaining Smith’s theories and the role of markets in satisfying human wants, the author developed what come to be known as Say’s Law. According to Say’s Law, “production creates its own demand”. In other words, people produce and sell goods and services in order to buy the things they want. If buyers no longer want certain products, a seller will stop producing them, and shift into something that is in demand.

3) Now, if only those goods and services actually in demand are produced, and the sale from of those product is ultimately used by managers and workers to buy the things they want and need, it follows that supply created its own demand. In other words: there could be such a thing as overproduction, or long-term unemployment. Temporary overproduction and unemployment, yes. Long term, never.

1) На протяжение сотен лет астрономию как науку представляли широко распространенные теории зеленого астронома II века Птолемея. Согласно теории Птолемея, Земля являлась центром Вселенной. Только в 16 веке европейцы, ознакомившись с работами Галилея и Коперника, убедились в том, что Земля и все другие планеты вращаются вокруг Солнца. Точно так же доктрина, известная как закон Сэя, более 100 лет сдерживала развитие в изучении экономики.

2) Джон Батист Сэя, который почитал Адама Смита, написала «Трактат о политической экономии «(1803 г.), который помог познакомить уроженца Франции с богатством народов. Объясняя теории Смита и роли рынков в удовлетворении человеческих потребностей автор разработал так называемый закон Сэя. Согласно закону Сэя, «производство создает собственный спрос». Иначе говоря, люди производят и продают товары и услуги, чтобы покупать то, что они хотят. Если покупателям больше не нужны определенные товары, продавец перестанет их производить и будет производить то, что пользуется спросом.

3) Теперь, если производят только те товары и услуги, которые действительно пользуются спросом, и продажи этих товаров в конечном итоге используются менеджерами и рабочими для покупки вещей, которые им нужны и в которых они нуждаются, то из этого следует, что предложение порождает собственный спрос. Иначе говоря: может возникнуть перепроизводство или длительная безработица. Временное перепроизводство и безработица — да. Долго — никогда.

The headline of the article is «Say’s Law of Markets». The author of the article is unknown. The central idea of the article is about Say’s Law. According to this Law, “production creates its own demand.

First of all it should be noted that science of astronomy was frozen by Ptolemy. Secondly, the works of Galileo and Copernicus persuaded people that the Earth and all the other planets rotated around the sun. Moreover, John Baptiste Say’s Treatise on Political Economy helped to introduce The Wealth of Nations to the native in France. Furthermore, people produce and sell goods and services in order to buy the things they want. The most important point is that, the sale from of those product is ultimately used by managers and workers to buy the things they want and need.

In conclusion it should be noted  that there could be such a thing as overproduction, or long-term unemployment.

In my opinion the text is interesting. I think that buyers make products be produced.
