I have lived all my life in Moscow, but my parents were born and grown up in Buryatia, so I have been learning two languages ​​since my childhood: Russian and Buryat. When I was 6 years old I went to a comprehensive school, where I started learning English. Every year I improved my skills by studying with tutors and attending different language courses, which also include international courses (for example, studying at the Hansa Education Center, Canada), where I get the experience of education in a multicultural environment. When I was 14 years old, I realized that I really like learning foreign languages. At that time, I was just starting to get interested in Asian culture, so I decided to take a Chinese class at the Confucius Institute. It was one of the best decisions of my life, because the Chinese language became something more than just a new language for me. I fell in love with the sound and the centuries-old history of this language. I especially liked to compare the 4 languages ​​I speak: Buryat, Russian, English and Chinese. And the more I immersed myself in learning Chinese, the more clearly I understood that I would like to connect my life with it.

When I was 16 years old, there was an acute issue of entering a university in my life. My family tried to provide me with the best possible education, by giving me the best opportunities for personal growth. They wanted me to study abroad and have the chance to experience a new culture and learn from other countries. And since I had already been studying Chinese for two years. I offered my parents to study in Asia. While considering various options, Taiwan caught my attention. I learned that education in Taiwan is very attractive for international students. This is the result of the country’s academic resources, rich cultural environment and future job prospects. Taiwan has a favorable standard of living and affordable tuition fees compared to Western countries.

In addition, the government of Taiwan encourages the influx of foreign students into the country, there are about 25,000 of them. All these aspects influenced my decision and desire to get higher education in Taiwan. I really believe that Taiwan, a country that showed incredible success in the international arena and achieved great influence in the modern world, will be able to give me the skills and abilities necessary to become a highly qualified specialist in my field of interest. It wasn’t hard to figure out the specialty. From the very beginning, I understood that I wanted to continue studying the Chinese language, to learn all the subtleties of such a multifaceted language. I am sure that the experience gained abroad, as well as fluency in 4 languages, will allow me to contribute to the development of international cooperation between Taiwan and the Russian Federation.
