I should say, that there are a lot of differences between modern and old television sets. First of all, modern television sets are light and thin.

In modern parlance, television is not just the physical box shaped device with a screen that lets us watch shows such as soap operas and documentaries. The concept of television has been greatly extended. These days, we can watch television programmes on laptops, smartphone screens and computers.

Some years ago not every family had a television set. It was something like a rarity. Today every family has one or more television sets: in the bedroom, in the kitchen, in the living room.

The quality of picture is much better. The faces of people on the screen are very clear. We can see every wrinkle on people’s faces.

As for the price, the modern television sets are not so expensive as they were some years ago. People can afford these devices.

One of the major advantages of the modern TV sets, that they allow to watch a movie in 3D at home.
