Can you imagine what our life will be like in 2050? Perhaps we will fly on holidays to the moon, or maybe we will take the dog for a walk in virtual reality.

It seems to me that friendship, being one of the most important human relationships, — will change dramatically. People will be friends over the Internet, on social networks. Moreover, many people will find their future husbands or wives there. Computers will become absolutely essential by 2050 and even now, some people describe them as best friends! We will become much more isolated from each other because we will have little real human contact.

I think that education will change. As more and more children will use computers in schools, some abilities, such as counting, will not be necessary as there will be computer programs. Even writing by hand will be a thing of the past.

Life will be better. By 2050, robots will be doing all the housework and we will be eating cooked food. We will only cook for future fun.

Space exploration will become more and more popular. Man will visit Mars regularly. Traveling around our own planet will change. There will be no cars in urban centers. Eco-friendly electric or solar-powered cars will replace the cars we currently use.

Pollution is an issue of concern to many people. Maybe it will continue to deteriorate and our planet will become impossible for life. But maybe one day we will have to pay for clean air, as we do now for clean water.

On the other hand, I am quite optimistic about the benefits of genetic engineering. It will be used to treat diseases such as cancer and AIDS. If scientists can find a cure for them, we will have a healthier society. Some people are worried about the future, while others are full of hope and enthusiasm. No matter how dark or bright it seems to us, a lot depends on us. We must take care of our planet and try to make it a better place to live.

The number of centenarians will increase more than 50-fold — from 500,000 today to more than 26 million by 2050. And this is a huge market for wealthy people who need care. At the same time, the world’s population will reach 10 billion people.

World ocean level can rise up to 2 meters. The homes of more than 300 million people will be destroyed.

The number of displaced persons will reach almost 700 million people. The world will be thrown off balance by mass migration. Think in advance where to live and where to build a distant summer cottage. Additionally, up to 1 million species of animals will disappear.

A nuclear explosion could provoke a «nuclear winter» followed by widespread famine. Scientists have conducted simulations and one model suggests that the use of 4,000 nuclear weapons would emit 150 teragrams of smoke, enough to reduce the global temperature by 8 degrees over four or five years. The world’s largest nuclear arsenals, located in the United States and Russia, each each have 7,000 warheads.

Technological progress in the field of synthetic biology and genetic engineering makes the use of pathogenic microorganisms easier and cheaper. At the same time, nuclear weapons are complex and made of rare materials, but biological and chemical weapons can be made for much less money.

By 2050, antibiotic-resistant bacteria could kill 10 million people annually.

The changes will be felt already from 2050 — the introduction of virtual reality and augmented reality. We will have a complete lack of privacy. In 2050, there will be no laptops and gadgets that you are used to today. Communication will occur at the speed of thought. At this speed, it will be possible to hack into your consciousness and control it.

For a good drink with a friend at the bar, you don’t have to leave the house. Make it easy virtually.

Now, in 2050, technology has permeated all aspects of my life. For example, today I woke up not from the alarm clock, but thanks to the signals of a chip implanted in my body, which unobtrusively woke me up. This chip, connected to the 10G network, helps me learn and remember different things. It also backs up my brain activity to the cloud in real time. Backing up information in case of unforeseen circumstances is in itself a good idea, despite the fact that the risk of contracting a serious illness these days is minimized. Chip performs a complete diagnosis of my health every four seconds, and if something is wrong, it automatically transmits the data directly to the doctor.

My lenses, which have replaced Google Glass for quite some time, deserve special attention. The lenses are connected to a chip inside me and capture everything I see. Since the lens data is updated in real time, I have access to all the information I need, and my questions are rarely unanswered. In fact, as soon as a question arises in my head, the answer to it immediately appears on the lenses, and I see it right before my eyes. The speed of work is such that often I don’t even remember that I asked a question until I get an answer to it.

Lenses are invaluable when playing golf. Thanks to them, I get all the information I need: wind speed, distance to the hole, as well as hints as to which club is best suited for striking.

Getting out of bed in the morning, for breakfast, I take a pill containing everything my body needs. Its nutritional value allows an increase in human life expectancy by about 30% compared to what was considered the norm in the past. Of course, I still like regular food, however it is quite difficult to find and it is very expensive.

Saying goodbye to my family, I put on my jetpack and head to work. In the small town where I live, this vehicle is ideal for short distances. On weekends, I use an electric car with my family. Back in 2013, when the first commercial electric vehicles appeared, no one could even imagine that they would not need batteries to work. Batteries are a thing of the past due to their heavy weight, and modern electric vehicles are powered by wireless power.
