 What is the topic of your master’s work?

 The theme of my work is “The Production of new knowledge about the population of the empire: Medical Faculty of Moscow University (1830-1850)”.

 What are the goals of this work?

 The purpose of this study is to reconstruct the process of production by medical faculties of knowledge about the social problems of the Russian Empire.

 What tasks were set in this work?

 Within the framework of this master’s thesis, the research activities of civilian doctors are studied. In the work, the problem of the formation of expert consciousness among Russian doctors is considered through their participation in the modernization of the state, in improving the management of the state through the study of its resources.

 What is novelty?

 So far, no one has dealt with this problem.

 What is the practical and theoretical significance?

 A significant part of the master’s thesis is devoted to the study of the structure and functioning of the medical faculties of Russian universities. The study focuses on identifying the reasons for the participation of doctors in journalistic activities, as well as determining the specifics of their view, due to their education, social origin and place in the official hierarchy.
