A teacher is a person of spiritual kindness, in love with his work. I chose the future profession in childhood. Mathematics is a subject that occupies a significant territory in a student’s living space. He meets her in the first grade and breaks up in the eleventh. Does it seem obvious to him that mathematics is a serious and necessary science? After all, it is clear to a pupil in a biology class that he studies, because he sees all these plants, all these animals, in the surrounding reality. At the lesson of history he understands that all the events in question were real.

In the class of mathematics, he meets with integrals, logarithms, numerical sequences and series, graphs of intricate functions and sometimes does not understand where they are in life. I explain to the guys that mathematics is present in life as widely as, perhaps, no other science, I show that mathematics is omnipresent, that it is in every point of space and time, in every action and event, because it describes all life processes.

How to cut a rectangular beam from a round log with the least amount of waste? What sizes should be a metal tank with a given consumption of materials so that it is the most capacious? Where should we build a bridge across the river so that the road that passes through it and connects the two cities is the shortest?

The development of students’ interest in mathematics, the development of creative abilities of each student set the goal of their work.

The game contributes to the development of creative abilities, fosters students the desire to win and to new knowledge, develops thinking, attention, imagination.

Учитель – это человек душевной доброты, влюбленный в свою работу. Я выбрала будущую профессию в детстве. Математика — предмет, который занимает значительную территорию в жизненном пространстве ученика. Он встречается с ней в первом классе и расстается в одиннадцатом. Кажется ли ему при этом очевидным, что математика — серьезная и нужная ему наука? Ведь на уроке биологии ученику ясно, что он изучает, потому что он видит в окружающей действительности все эти растения, всех этих животных. На уроке истории понимает, что все события, о которых идет речь, происходили реально.

На уроке математики он встречается с интегралами, логарифмами, числовыми последовательностями и рядами, графиками замысловатых функций и подчас не понимает, где они в жизни. Я объясняю ребятам, что математика присутствует в жизни так широко, как, может быть, ни одна другая наука, показываю, что математика вездесуща, что она в каждой точке пространства и времени, в каждом действии и событии, потому что описывает все жизненные процессы.

Как из круглого бревна выпилить прямоугольную балку с наименьшим количеством отходов? Каких размеров должен быть металлический бак при заданном расходе материалов, чтобы он был наиболее вместительным? В каком месте следует строить мост через реку, чтобы дорога, проходящая через него и соединяющая два города, была кратчайшей?

Развитие у учащихся интереса к математике, развитие творческих способностей каждого ученика ставлю целью своей работы.

Игра способствует развитию творческих способностей, воспитывает у учащихся стремление к победе и к новым знаниям, развивает мышление, внимание, фантазию.

MY RESEARCH

I am a Math teacher. My special subject is … I combine practical work with scientific research. I am doing research in … This branch of knowledge has been rapidly developing in the last two decades. The obtained results have already found wide application in most varied spheres of the country’s national economy.

I am particularly interested in … which includes … I have been working on the problem for… years. I got interested in it when I was a student. My work is primarily of practical importance, it is based on the theory developed by the collaborators of our department. So I can say that I work in close cooperation with my colleagues. We also closely collaborate with several enterprises of our country. There are several research teams at our department. The team I work in is headed by Doctor of Technical sciences … He is my scientific adviser. I always consult him when I encounter difficulties in my research. We often discuss the obtained data.

As I am rather an experementator than a theoretician I make use of different equipment …. The obtained data enabled me to define more precisely the theoretical model of …. I have not yet completed the experimental part of my thesis, but I am through with the theoretical part. For the moment I have … scientific papers, some of which were published when I was a student. Two of them were published in the journals of … and …

I take part in various scientific conferences where I make reports on my subject, I willingly partici­pate in scientific discussions and debates. I am planning to finish writing the thesis by the end of the next year. I hope to get the scientific degree of a Candidate of Technical sciences.
