A person needs to rest after work. Very often we look forward to weekends and holidays in order to have a good rest. The word «holiday» comes from the words «holy day». Some holidays have a fixed date, such as New Year’s or Christmas, others do not. Some, like Easter, are transitional holidays.

New Year is very popular all over the world. This is my favorite holiday too. We usually get together. We love to celebrate this holiday at home.

Christmas is celebrated on January 7th. On January 6, people clean the house, prepare many delicious dishes, because the next day they don’t work. This day is Holy Evening. On March 8th people celebrate Women’s Day. Then on the first of May comes the next holiday — Labor Day. Another religious holiday is Easter. This holiday has no fixed date, it changes. In Russia, there are special attributes of Easter: Easter eggs and Easter cakes. Easter is a very good spring holiday. The ninth of May is Victory Day. This is a sacred holiday for every Russian citizen. We are grateful to our grandfathers for the victory in the World War II.

Новый год очень популярен во всем мире. Это и мой любимый праздник. Обычно мы собираемся вместе. Мы любим отмечать этот праздник дома.

Рождество празднуется 7 января. 6 января люди убираются в доме, готовят много вкусных блюд, потому что на следующий день они не работают. Этот день — Святой вечер. 8 марта люди отмечают женский день. Затем первого мая наступает очередной праздник — День труда. Еще один религиозный праздник – Пасха. У этого праздника нет фиксированной даты, он меняется. В России есть особые атрибуты Пасхи: пасхальные яйца и куличи. Пасха – очень хороший весенний праздник. Девятое мая – День Победы. Это священный праздник для каждого гражданина России. Мы благодарны нашим дедам за победу в Великой Отечественной войне.
2 тема — праздники за рубежом

British people like holidays. There are some of the traditional holidays they celebrate: New Year, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night, Christmas.

On December 25, people in the UK celebrate Christmas. Families decorate their houses and Christmas trees. People prepare gifts, make Christmas cakes. Children often write letters to Santa Claus with their wishes. At Christmas, everyone opens presents and sits down to eat a turkey or a goose with vegetables.

On New Year’s Eve many people go to visit with their families and friends. They go to bed after midnight to «welcome the New Year» at 12 o’clock.

On Valentine’s Day, people send special Valentines to the people they love. Some buy gifts for their loved ones or give them a red rose, a symbol of love.

On Easter Saturday, many people go to church. Children receive chocolate eggs as a gift. Easter always means spring, flowers, green trees and young animals, especially lambs and chickens.

The celebration of Halloween is a very old tradition. People dress up as witches and ghosts. They make pumpkin lamps. Sometimes kids go out in groups, knock on people’s doors and get candy.

Guy Fawkes Night is celebrated on November 5th. When it gets dark, people take to the streets and watch beautiful fireworks. In the country, they often kindle a large fire and gather around it.

I love my house very much. I feel very comfortable here. My most beloved, dear and friendly family lives here. The most important thing for me is the environment in which I live. I live in a small three-room apartment with two bedrooms. One of which belongs to me, and the second to my parents. There is a hall in which we gather in the evenings or on weekends with the whole family to talk and discuss interesting topics, watch TV.

I have my own room. There are blue wallpapers on the walls, the ceiling resembles the sky. There are blue curtains on the windows. On one side of the room there is a very beautiful desk. There is a place for a computer and a very beautiful and comfortable carved chair complements it. My father did for me with his own hands.

We have a very comfortable house. Here I feel very free. My parents are my friends. I share with them all my joys and sorrows. They always help me and tell me how to do it. I love my home and my parents very much. Thanks to the atmosphere of love and comfort that they created in our house, I feel happy.

I live in Saratov. There are many beautiful places and attractions in our city. For example, the famous Victory Park, which is located on Falcon Mountain. It houses the monument «Cranes», dedicated to our fellow countrymen who died in the Great Patriotic War.

There is a lemonarium — this is a garden where dozens of various plants grow. In this botanical garden, special conditions have been created so that plants that usually grow in the tropics feel comfortable here. I really like to visit this place, it’s very beautiful, quiet, lots of greenery.

Probably my favorite place in Saratov is the city beach. It is located on an island called Pokrovsky Sands. My family and I like spending time here. We swim in the Volga, we rest. On the beach there are several sports grounds, playgrounds. On a nice warm day, a lot of people gather here.

On the territory of the Victory Park there is an amazing ethnographic complex. It is called the National Village of the Peoples of the Saratov Region. We went here with the class. It is very interesting here, you can learn about the peoples, their culture and traditions, you can even try their dishes. Various concerts and holidays are often held here. This place is often visited by tourists.

One of the symbols of our city is the famous Saratov harmonica. A monument was even erected in her honor. On Kirov Avenue, you can see the figure of an accordion player sitting on a bench. This sculpture has long become popular in Saratov, it seems to me that every Saratov citizen has a photograph with it.

Another local attraction is the Satisfy My Sorrows church. She is striking in her beauty, I study at an art school, and we came with a class to draw her. It turned out very nice and colorful. My grandmother told me that in Soviet times there was a planetarium here.

We rarely think about health, we remember it when something starts to hurt. Then neither gadgets, nor sweets, nor even friends are needed. Many people think that a healthy lifestyle is a simple rejection of bad habits: smoking and alcohol. And they completely forget that nutrition and physical activity are also an important component of our good health.

We are used to delicious fast food, chips, crackers, sweets. All this is very unhealthy food that spoils our health and figure. It is not necessary to completely abandon junk food, it’s just worth eating such foods less often than we are used to.

Sports also help improve health. You can just ride a bike in the summer or ski in the winter. It’s not worth saying that the weather is bad, you can also find something to do at home: a horizontal bar, a hoop, just wring out or squat. A simple walk on foot will also be beneficial, the main thing is to walk away from highways and harmful enterprises, it is better in the park. It would be nice to involve friends in such activities — playing sports together is much more fun. The main thing is that the exercises are regular, and not occasionally.

Health is affected by our thinking and attitude to what is happening, no matter how strange it sounds. There is a saying that «all diseases are from the nerves.» Maybe this is so. In any case, when a person is nervous, something starts to hurt him: either his heart is beating strongly, or it is squeezing in his chest. So everything should be taken calmly.

It is very easy to lose your health and so difficult, sometimes even impossible, to restore it later. Therefore, to prevent this from happening, you just need to follow a healthy lifestyle.
6 тема – спорт

A person’s life is rather short and should not be wasted on useless things like drinking alcohol or drugs. Everyone can take care of their health, and this care consists not only in healthy nutrition, but also in sports.

There are many sports that will keep an adult in shape, and a child will develop and shape an athletic physique. It all starts from childhood, love for sports should appear in these years. When a teenager is passionate about sports, they are much less likely to fall under the bad influence of the street. Doing any sport, in addition to being in good physical shape, also brings up discipline. For example, by giving a child to play sports, it will immediately become noticeable that he acquires a certain discipline and is always ready to be responsible for his actions and deeds.

Sport can change the lives of teenagers, as well as adults, but it is more logical to talk about children, because they are the country’s hope and support, and I would not want the younger generation to lead an unhealthy lifestyle. First of all, from childhood, parents should push the child to sports, and it is important to understand that sports should be enjoyed. After all, the factor that the child is forcibly driven to the sports section will have a very bad effect. You need to understand and understand what the child likes.

Today, a lot of children and young people go in for sports. People’s consciousness must work here, but not only. The government of the country should also be involved in this. It is necessary to build sports grounds, stadiums, invest in the development of sports in difficult regions of the state. The government should help athletes, because famous athletes are always the pride of the whole country, and other countries get the impression that there are many healthy people in such a country.
